Kribi · Ocean Department · South Region
Kribi is the capital of the Ocean Department in Cameroon’s South Region. The city comprises Kribi I and Kribi II. On the Atlantic coast at the mouth of the Kienké, it brings together port activities, fisheries, trade, tourism and natural heritage, including the Lobé waterfalls.
The assessment covers the city of Kribi and its two districts. It considers its connections with the Ocean Department without treating the whole department as the city. Boundaries and neighbourhood coverage will be confirmed with the City Council.

Our work with the city
Blue Ocean supports the Kribi City Council in promoting the city under our contract. Our role is to raise the profile of its strengths and develop useful connections with international partners.
This approach presents the wider economic and tourism ecosystem: port and logistics, hotels and restaurants, fisheries and processing, trade, crafts, services, culture and planning institutions. It connects local value creators with international partners.

Opportunities are defined with the city and relevant stakeholders, based on their needs, projects and the expertise required.

Showcase the coast, Lobé waterfalls and territorial experiences with a sustainable tourism perspective.
Showcase establishments, visitor and delegation hospitality, dining and tourism experiences. Identify training, management and development needs.
Raise the profile of SMEs, markets, skills, services and processing activities that create jobs and value in the city.
Connect producers, fishers, cooperatives and processors with markets, cold chains, skills and technical partners.
Engage institutions such as MEAO, public services and operators in planning, energy, water and waste management projects.
